How do you find a name you like and want to stick with? [I want to change my name]?

I've thought of a few names but I don't really know for sure. How are you meant to find a name that's right for you? Any tips? Thanks x

Well it has to be a name that you could live with. And don't name yourself something that you wouldn't name your children. Thats a good ruel to follow!
Reply:I'm in the process of trying to find a name that fits me too, I'm also changing my name.





I would say look back at your family's history, see if there is anybody you're related to that you like their names.


Look back at your nationality, find a few names of that origin.


If there are any names that you like already, stand in front of a mirror and say the names out loud. If it looks like it fits go for it!

Reply:If you want to change your name, change it to something that means something to you. I hate when people name their kids something as simple as Emma or Jacob, only because it's cute. We named our son Wyatt; it was the name of my fiance's friend that was killed in Iraq. Maybe look at your heritage and find a name that suits you, or (my favorite), look up the names of the goddesses of several civilizations and match up what she represented to your personality and your strong suits.
Reply:Well I personally would stick with the name my parents gave me, because it is my name and it was given to me for a reason. Since you want to change your name I would suggest picking one that you would like or perhaps even love. You could also pick a name that is unique and original and perhaps even fits your personality. Reply:First of all young lady, you need to feel good about yourself, (inside %26amp; out), then pick a name that partially descibes you, as far as personality goes,such as :Mandy, is full of life, adventerous,while Emily is more petite, shy, smart, JoJo is kind of an all out-there -kind of girl,so you need to figure out what kind of personality you are, mam you never can tell maybe the name you were born with descibes you to a tee?[Happy New Year]!Have fun trying to find your new name.
Reply:Maybe do a search for like names that mean 'love' or something. Pick something that you want to be/feel you are like 'light' 'soul' 'power' 'beauty' 'princess'. If the name has a real meaning to you then you'll like it better.

P.S I also agree with the suggestion of family names, make it something that has a particular significance to YOU.
Reply:Sometimes you like a name but it doesn't fit you.Example:I would of been named Summer but I don't look like a Summer or I love the name Annelise but I don't look like one.Maybe you try a nickname (If you have one) but if you really don't like your name pick one that suites you.
Reply:if i wanted to change my name, i would try to make it unique. like....niki, or brooke, or kaileigh, or something like that, maybe even elley!
Reply:Find names you like, look at the meanings, figure out what looks wise 'suits' you better. And keep narrowing it down. Ask us! Or if you have say 5 that you just CAN'T seperate, choose the one closest to your birth name?
Reply:id ont know why would you want to change your name anyways your parents probabaly had a special meaning to your name!
