Looking to find meaning in my name
There are dozens of Name Your Baby books on the market. Just about all of them provide the origins of the names. Carmen, for example, means "song or singer" , due to the facts that charms were chanted.

The book I use most often is by Bruce Lansky and is called The Mother of all Baby Name Books.

Cora comes directly from the Greek Core, for maiden. This is another name for the goddess Persephone.
Reply:Do you mean Cora?

English: name apparently coined by James Fenimore Cooper for one of the characters in The Last of the Mohicans (1826). It could represent a Latinized form of Greek Kore “maiden”. In classical mythology this was a euphemistic name of the goddess of the underworld, Persephone, and would not have been a well-omened name to take.
