Imam Bukhari, was a famous Sunni Scholar who gathered %26amp; authorized Hadiths. The city he is from is called Bukhara and that is what he was named after.

Bukhara is a city of central Asia. Therefore Imam Bukhari who belong to Bukhara is called Bukhari as a man living in Karachi is known as Karachiite.
